Introduction:

Phenotypic drug discovery (PDD) is used to discover new drug targets and understand disease mechanisms. Current PDD approaches rely on microscopy or flow cytometry, which have limitations. Here we show the application of VisionSort, a new discovery platform for high content phenotypic screening, together with PhoreMost’s PROTEINi® technology to perform high-throughput screening using intracellular protein aggregation as the target readout. 

Summary:

1. VisionSort is a new platform for high content phenotypic screening drug discovery programs
2. VisionSort was able to identify and differentiate cells expressing different intracellular protein aggregation  phenotypes in high throughput.
3. The approach was able to screen cells with high purity and maintain viability for downstream analysis and validation
